BabyLegs review and giveaway!!!

I'm excited to do my first real product review and giveaway!
I have a wonderful friend who has been helping me and teaching me how to improve my blog, and with her help, I learned how to get in touch with companies to review their products!


I was introduced to BabyLegs by my friends at LLL when Cooper was a few months old. I was amused at first, I couldnt picture BabyLegs Leg Warmers on my baby boy. But he was learning to crawl, so I thought I'd give them a try and see if they give his knees a little cushion for those first few scoots on the carpet!
I was in love from the instant I opened the package! The cute design and detail caught my eye right away. Cooper was in cloth diapers, and I was able to buy several designs to match. Of course, your baby does not have to be in cloth to use BabyLegs. I put them on him and let him roam the house. He looked absolutely adorable, and they fit great! They are made for the skinny minny babies as well as the chunky monkeys like my little man! His knees were no longer getting red and scratched from my tile floor! And another great perk of the BabyLegs I discovered is keeping the babys legs warm while changing the diaper! You could change them without taking off the Leg Warmers!

The Friday Featured Blogger-Yellow Tennessee

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am going to be doing some fun posts on my blog, to try and give my readers a little more variety! And beginning today, I'll be doing a featured blogger post every Friday!

I'm excited to post todays interview. I've had the chance to get to know Rachel at Yellow Tennessee over the past two or so years. She is a sweet mama, with a great family.

1. Tell us about yourself-family, job, things you like to do..
I am a full time stay at home mom to an almost 4 year old, Genghis. I love being a mom and a wife and really feel like this is exactly what I am supposed to be doing. Above all else, I am a Christian who allows my faith to dictate who I am and what I believe. I am an artist who loves painting even though I don't get to do as much of it as I would like. I love bright colors and good music.

2. What is your blog about?
My blog is about saving people money in a nutshell. Yellow Tennessee, Saving You Money One Blog Post At A Time. Finding great deals on coupons, free samples, and just looking for that one thing that will help make life easier.

3. How do you fit your blog into your schedule? Do you set aside certain times of the day to blog?
I am an all or nothing kind of girl. I tend to find something and go crazy with it, putting all of my time and energy into it. So for the blog to be successful I had to set up a schedule or else I would go full throttle and then burn out and never touch it again.
I am by nature a night owl who is up until at least 2am everyday. I use that time at night to blog. Genghis is in bed, my husband is in bed and I can focus on just the blog at that time. Thank goodness you can schedule the post to publish automatically or I would never get anything done around here. I also take every Sunday off from the blog completely so I don't get burnt out.

4. What inspired you to start your blog?
Initially I started the blog as a way to write about thoughts, feelings on different things, and general madness. After a short period of time I found that I would find a deal on something, a great coupon or a free sample. I would let different people know about this and figured the blog was a great place to put it down and just link them to it. Eventually all those great deals became the primary focus of the blog.

5. What do you hope to achieve in the future with your blog?
That is a hard one. I think the main thing I want to achieve with this blog in the future is the same thing I want to achieve now. I want to help people save money. Help them learn about new products that they may not have seen before. Help them realize that it is possible to be a one income family and still thrive. Oh and getting big enough to do a Dyson review and giveaway would not hurt my feelings at all!

Do you have the Old Navy love?

Well if you are a facebook friend or fan of mine, you know I love Old Navy! And I love to share coupons I find with my friends. If you havent figured out where I find the awesome coupons, I'll let you in on my secret...

Every week, they update the site with hidden coupons: 10% off, 15% off, $10 off of $50, $15 off of $75, and $50 off of $100 being the biggest one they've had lately (they have had $75 off of $100 in the past) as well as other great coupons. The big ones go quick, but the fun is in the search. I've been lucky enough to have a $50/$100 and it's amazing all you can buy especially during their big sale events!
As of right now, they update every thursday, usually in the evening around 8 pm EST. I think last week it was 7:45 est, sometimes it is early in the morning. You just have to keep checking for updates! You can sign up for text updates and get hints as to wear a coupon might be. If you find one you can save it and keep looking for others, but you can only print one. You can email one to a friend or send one to a friend on FB.
I always share with my FB friends! I usually dont make it to ON in time so I have more than one to pass along. New look and new changes to come!

I'm learning how to design my blog, and make it more my own! I also have a lot of new changes to come. I'm going to make my blog more my own, but still have the great freebies and savings for all of my readers and FB fans! One thing I'm going to be doing is a Wordless Wednesday blog, featuring only pictures. I'd like to start blogging about my fellow bloggers one day a week, so if you'd like to be featured we'll do a little interview so other readers can get to know you and your blog. I'm going to try and do something daily, instead of sporadically, and get my blog "going" so to speak. I hope you all enjoy the changes to come. I hope at the end of all of this, I'll have something great to giveaway as a kick off to all of the changes!

Our latest adventures

Cooper and our snowman

My kids sure know how to keep me on my toes.
Cooper is loving school so far, he goes swimming on tuesdays and has gym on thursdays. He is scared to swim now after a little incident last week where he needed resucuing by the life guard after floating to the other end of the toddler pool. This week, he cried and cried when it was time to swim so he sat out and watched the other kids. I am hoping I can convince him to swim next week. But other than that he is doing well! I love the art projects he brings home, he is so proud of himself when he shows me what he has made!

Last week I took Bennett to see an ENT (Ear/Nose/Throat Doc). We did find out a few weeks ago he is likely deaf in his right ear, so we made an appt with the ENT to see if there was anything physically wrong and so far everything looks normal! When he turns 1, the Dr wants him to get a full body scan to rule out any syndromes of the heart/kidney since hearling loss can be a sign of that and he will get a scan of his head to get a better look at the inner workings of his ear. The Dr said that shouldnt bother with hearing aids or anything b/c being deaf from birth, he will adapt to hearing from his left ear and will not know any different. Now I am praying his hearing remains in tact in his left ear. I'm going to start learning sign language. Even if he can hear, I think it will be useful to know.

Bill is off to Arkansas next week for work, so I'm likely going up to MI for the week. I'm just not brave enough to take care of my kids by myself, how sad is that?? But I know our family will love to see the boys so this just gives me a reason to bring them up for a visit. I cant wait!
I know I'm slacking on my blog posts, I do have lots to post for you all, I just need to sit down and do it!! Sorry blog friends!
