First day of school!

Today is my sons first day of school (Pre-K), and boy was he excited!! He loves his teacher and his classroom is amazing! He asked me if "his kids" can come home with him after school is over, he is so excited to make new friends. It seems weird to be the parent of a school aged child, and to be going to parent/teacher meetings. It doesn't seem real, because it was just yesterday that my mother was taking me to my first day of school, wasn't it? Time sure does fly, thankfully I have these two sweet boys to enjoy the ride with :D
Here is Coop and his "super CHEESE face" I love this kid so much!

Wholesale Costume Club Review

Halloween is quickly approaching, and I for one cannot wait! I love the crisp and cool air that this time of year brings, and most of all I love to decorate the house in all things Halloween! This is a fun time of year to be a kid, I think-the treats, the tricks, and best of all...the costumes! My oldest has already decided that he wants to be a doctor slash Optimus Prime (from Transformers) so I am trying to figure out how to make that work :D This will be the first Halloween that my youngest can participate in the fun, so I started scouring the internet for the perfect costume and came across the Halloween Costumes at Wholesale Costume Club and knew I had hit the jackpot! They have so much to choose from! They not only had great costumes for adults in all shapes and sizes, but that had a great selection of toddler and infant costumes too! I really had no idea what to pick, after all he can't tell me what he likes-so I hoped one costume would just jump out at me and I would know it was the one! They have a huge selection to choose from: Animals, Bugs, TV/Movie Characters, Disney, Super Hero-just to name a few! After searching through page after page after page, I finally found the perfect costume! I chose the Mickey Mouse costume for my little guy! We love Mikey Mouse and friends in our house, we read a lot of Mikey Mouse books and watch the occasional Disney morning show so I knew he would recognize the character! Wholesale Costume Club shipped very fast, and the size I chose (12-18 mo) fits pretty true to size! Luckily my son humored me and let me put the costume on him right away and we both just giggled-he looked so cute in it! It is really soft, and well made. He actually really liked being in it, and LOVED the ears!
If you want a great deal on a superior costume, please check out the Halloween costumes at Wholesale Costume Club! Their selection for kids is phenomenal, and their teen and adult costume selections are just as awesome! There is something for everyone, and at a great price too! You'll be impressed with the quality too- very well put together and great detail! So get shopping, Halloween will be here before you know it!

Disclosure/Disclaimer: I received one costume for review purposes only, no other compensation was given. Please see my Disclosure policy for more information.

Pam's Pantry Gourmet Dip Review and Giveaway!

I'm not going to lie-I've been stalking Pam's Pantry for a few years :D I came across Pam's Pantry Gourmet Dips when I was still living in Michigan, and making the rounds at a craft show and had to stop by their booth to see what smelled so good! They had bowl after bowl after bowl of mixes, dressings and spreads! I had to taste one, and I still remember the first one I tried: Melli's Mexi Dip. To this day, this is one of my favorite dips, I buy it every time I see Pam's Pantry at a craft show! So yes, that means I've bought from them several times! I've seen Pam's Pantrys booth in several towns in MI, and even down here in OH! It was neat to see a "home town" product in Ohio after moving away from home.
When I was in MI a few weeks ago for my little mans first birthday, I stopped by a craft event with my mother in law and was excited to see Pam's Pantry there. I stopped by and took advantage of their great prices! Some of the flavors I picked up were their new Snickerdoodle Dessert dip and their fabulous new Pepperjack dip. I'm not usually a spice girl, so I was hesitant to try the Pepperjack vegetable dip, but the girls at the booth convinced me it would be worth the taste! It was so creamy and so good, not overwhelming but definitely not without pizazz and flavor! I knew it would be a hit with my husband too, so I had to buy my own mix. I can never visit their booth with out buying a few Fruit and Cheesecake dips-this time I bought Strawberries 'n Cream and Snickerdoodle. I made the Strawberries 'n Cream into a pie and I couldn't take a picture because we ate it all in one night :o how embarrassing! But it was that delicious! But the Snickerdoodle...drool! This would make a great pie, dip, or "cheese" ball. This is by far my new favorite mix from Pam's Pantry! The creaminess of it, mixed with the cinnamon and vanilla flavor-dip perfection! We used it as a dip with Graham crackers and sugar cookies!

What's so great about all of the dips and mixes from Pam's Pantry is how easy they are to make! You get homemade deliciousness with just a few simple steps-for example, the Snickerdoodle dip. All I needed was my package from Pam's Pantry mixed with 8oz of cream cheese and 8 oz of whipped cream and that's it! I can store the extra in the fridge, and it keeps very well! There is a simple but clear ingredient list on the back of every mix so you always know what you are getting, nothing hidden!
Get to know Pam and the reason she started this wonderful business. This is a great thing she has started, and I know she has fans all over-not just in Michigan! They travel all around going to craft shows, be sure to check out their schedule and maybe you'll see Pam's Pantry at an event near you!

Buy it!: Check out the amazing selections of Vegetable Dips, Salsa Dips, Cheese spreads, and Cheesecake mixes at www.PamsPantry.net or at a craft show/event near you!

Win it!: Pam's Pantry is giving one lucky person 6 dips of their choice! Awesome!

Pen to Paper Challange-Pear Tree Greetings

It's been a busy month for us in the Stevens household, and while I had hoped to do it sooner, I'm glad I was reminded about how important it is to keep in touch with my family. So I decided to take the Pen to Paper Challenge as a part of my "job" as a Pearista for Pear Tree Greetings and write my loved ones a note letting them know I'm thinking of them. Thanks to Pear Tree Greetings, I'm learning the importance and the power of staying connected with those I care about-they have the best selection on all things paper, be it Christmas cards, birth announcements, or thank you notes!

My first note that I wrote was to my oldest brother, his wife, and my nephew. They recently found out they are expecting a new baby, and I had to send my congratulations! I'm so excited to meet my new neice or nephew! All my parents grandchildren are boys, and while we would love another boy so very much I think we are secretly hoping for a little girl to spoil! Congratulations big brother!

I also wrote a note to my grandmother. I missed our visit with her on our last trip to MI and my son reminds me all the time how he misses his great grandma! So I took the opportunity to touch base with her. She is living alone, and she is a very spry and spunky 80 year old who is full of life! I know she'll appreciate a good old fashion snail mail letter saying that we are thinking of her!

My last letter today was to my next oldest brother and his girlfriend. My brother moved to Florida last year, and has made a wonderful life for himself there, but I miss  him terribly! We will see him next month when he flies in to MI so we can meet the special woman in his life, I can't wait!! I know we will get along fabulously :D

I'm so glad I took the time to write these notes. There is something special about a hand written letter I think. We seem to forget that in the times of the internet and email. I really think it lets someone know that you thought enough of them to sit down and pick out a pretty card to write them a note, even if it is just to say hello! I don't get them often myself, but when I do, it's always the first piece of mail that I open and it always puts a smile on my face.

Won't you take the Pen to Paper challenge with me? Check out the awesome stationary and note cards that Pear Tree Greetings has to offer! There is bound to be something beautiful that catches your eye, that is sure to make someone smile when they see they have a special note from you arrive in the mail. Be "old fashioned" with me, and put your thoughts on paper for a friend or loved one. You won't be disappointed with the satisfaction you feel, and you know the recipient won't be either!

Don't Forget to take advantage of Pear Tree Greetings monthly discount just for you lucky readers! Celebrate anything and everything baby now until the end of August, take 15% off ANY Baby related purchase, no minimum purchase required. use disount code PEARAUG10 at checkout!
disclaimer/disclosure: I received note cards for my personal use for the Pen to Paper challenge thanks to Pear Tree Greetings. My blog post will be entered in a drawing for a $50 Pear Tree Greetings discount. No other compensation was given, all views and opinions were my own.

Bubble Chocolate Review and Giveaway

Calling all chocolate lovers, I think I have found something that you have never tried :D
I'm an avid chocolate fan-it's crazy how far my love for chocolate goes! My favorite is a good, smooth and creamy dark chocolate. Just one piece is all it takes to perk me up on a down day, although I never stop at one piece!
I had the pleasure of being introduced and reviewing Bubble Chocolate. It's like nothing I've ever had, and that's a good thing! Bubble Chocolate is so light and airy, yet when it hits your tongue, it's like an instant reaction-it becomes creamy and so delightfully delicious! It's made from premium European Chocolate, and what makes it stand out compared to other bars is the bubbles. Yes, bubbles! From the Bubble Chocolate website "Chocolate is most satisfying when its melting point is close to one's body temperature. Infusing chocolate with bubbles enhances the mouth experience because the resulting structure causes chocolate to melt more rapidly across the tongue. Bubbles create a unique texture, which in turn, creates a more immediate, satisfying taste sensation."
How do they get the bubbles in the chocolate? "Creating Bubble Chocolate® is both an art and a science. Our proprietary procedure includes the following steps: first, infusing the bubbles throughout the chocolate at just the right time and temperature, followed by molding and cooling the chocolate so that the bubbly structure remains inside while a smooth outer shell is formed."
Isn't that amazing? Like I said, this chocolate is like no other!
There is a special way to enjoy your Bubble Chocolate. You can't just bite into it-well, you can...but you won't enjoy it as much! First you break off a piece and let it sit on your tounge for a few seconds, allowing it to melt ever so slightly. As the bubbles soften, begin to chew slowly and the chocolate will go from being lightweight and dry to smooth and creamy.
I was able to review both flavors of Bubble Chocolate, Milk and Dark. I dove into the dark chocolate first. I noticed right away how much bigger Bubble Chocolate bars are than the average chocolate bar. The bubbles in the chocolate give it more volume, thus giving you more delicious chocolate to enjoy! Score one for the chocolate lover :D
I broke off a piece and let it sit for a few seconds...it really didn't take long for it to melt and get creamy. I was hooked after one bite! Before I devoured the entire Dark chocolate bar, I figured I better give the Milk chocolate a chance. I'm not a huge fan of Milk chocolate, but I'm being completely honest when I say this is some of the tastiest Milk chocolate I've ever had. Truly! I steer away from the big brands of chocolate bars because their sweetness is so overpowering, but not Bubble Chocolate. I could really sit down and enjoy this w/o stopping after one bite :D Not only is the taste very satisfying, but the fun way of eating Bubble Chocolate makes it that much more enjoyable!
Did I mention that Bubble Chocolate is made from all natural ingredients! As a mom, I can relax a little more when giving my son a piece knowing it's a tasty treat that's not full of artificial ingredients!

Buy it: You can purchase Bubble Chocolate online on their website, or go here to find a store near you!

Win it! 5, yes 5 Lucky readers will win Bubble chocolate for themselves! Each person will get one Dark and one Milk chocolate to enjoy!

Adiri Ultimate Nurser Review

I was given the new Adiri Ulitimate Nurser baby bottle review. This is the new bottle design by Adiri, which was created with breastfeeding in mind. How is that possible, you ask? The new and improved Adiri Ultimate Nurser was redesigned "with natures best model in mind" and has both the look and feel of the mothers breast.
This is the most "breast-like" bottle I have ever seen. It's soft, and dare I say  has a "supple" feel to the nipple. If you read my blog, you know I'm an avid breastfeeding mom. Both of my boys have had bottles here and there, if I needed to be gone for long periods of times but I never used them more than once a day. The Adiri Ultimate Nurser, to me, is the perfect bottle for a breastfeeding baby. It mimics the breast to provide a "natural latch to reduce nipple confusion" which is great, because as new moms we want breastfeeding to work and do not want to cause any more stress to ourselves and to our babies!

My son Bennett had not used a bottle in some time, but the need arose just the other day after an injury to his teeth made it too painful to eat or nurse. He did not nurse for almost 24 hours,  and I was worried about dehydration. I think he was associating the breast with the trauma because I kept trying to get him to nurse afterwards and in the ER and he just couldn't. I was pumping to avoid engorgment, so I used the milk I pumped and tried the Adiri Ultimate Nurser for the first time in hopes he'd take in some fluids! Boy did he take to it, he was so hungry. Of course, I encourage breastfeeding to any mother, but I know situations arise such as going back to work or an overnight hospital stay where a bottle is needed. If you are a breastfeeding mother, and will be in a situation where your baby will be taking bottles, I highly recommend the Adiri Ultimate Nurser!!
You can purchase the Adiri Ultimate Nurser here for under $15! And of course, they are BPA/Phthalate free! Right now it is being packaged in the original Natural Nurser boxes so not to waste, but the new packaging will be out soon!  There are 3 flow options, and a bonus part of the bottle is the Improved Filling Cap, which "seals the bottle securly for leak free use and transport" and when used with the Warming Disk, it acts as a cup/lid combo that you can use for snacks!

Disclosure/Disclaimer: I was given an Adiri Ultimate Nurser bottle for review purposes only. No other compensation was given. For more information on this blog and my posting practices, please refer to my disclosure policy.

Listening to the rain

It's very quiet in my house, but not that eerie quiet when the kids are doing something they shouldn't! The boys are napping, and the only thing I hear is the rain coming down. It's so hot, it's like taking a shower outside. I love when it rains when the air is warm. When I was younger (okay like in high school :D) i'd love to go out running in the rain, dancing in it's warmth. My favorite times to play soccer were when it was raining.
It's not very often these days I get peace and quiet like this, so I enjoy it when I can. I know most stay at home moms can agree that those quiet moments we get are the wonderful...but after a while I find myself tapping my foot waiting for someone to wake up! What's wrong with me? :D I guess I could clean or fold laundry, but that's not as fun as having a squirt gun fight with a three year old or having a tickle fest with a giggling one  year old when they wake up!
Rain is calming and relaxing...I think I'll go snuggle up with my babies and take a little nap too!
Enjoy your weekend!

Snorg Tees Review and Giveaway

I am all about the T-shirts. A good, comfy T-shirt is my main wardrobe most days, I would say it's my signature look :D Because I wear them so often, I like to wear shirts that are cute, funny, or just generally make a statement.
Snorg Tees does just that! Their selection of shirts is unlike any other company that I have come across. What makes them different? At Snorg Tees, they get their fans involved. Snorg Tees are created by both the designers on staff, as well as designs sent in by us the customers, 28% of the shirts being sold were created by loyal fans! How fun is that? Snorg Tees has shirts for men, woman, and children-and hoodies too!. My 3.5 year old has a lot of silly shirts in his wardrobe, he loves to pick out his  own shirts and I think he takes after me and always picks the funniest shirt in the pile! There will definitely be a Snorg Tee under the Christmas Tree for my boys this year, like maybe this one:

Now  my friends know that I am a huge Neil Patrick Harris fan. Love him. When Snorg Tees agreed to do a review, they let me have my pick of shirt to review. One caught my eye, and I didn't need to look any further-I chose this shirt:
I wore this shirt on my recent trip to MI, and my sister wanted to steal this from me! She is making a purchase for herself, and it's now become our little inside joke to randomly text WWNPD to each other :D
As a mom, I don't want to wear anything outrageous and have my kids ask me what something would mean if it's not appropriate for kids, but I do know many people who like to wear shirts with innuendos and that is okay because let's face it, most are really funny! But this shirt was perfect for me. The fit was perfect, and it's so soft! The sizing was right on, at least for me! I was warned to size up, and since I'm between a small and medium in most shirts, I chose a medium and it fit great!

Buy it: Visit Snorg Tees and browse their amazing T-shirts! They have a great sales selection too, I bet you can't buy just one!

Win it!: One lucky reader will win a Snorg Tee of their choice!!

Mandatory Entry: Visit Snorg Tees and tell me what shirt you'd pick if you won! Please leave your email address in this comment.

Happy 1st Birthday my sweet Bennett

Tomorrow my baby boy is one year old! What a year we've had.
Bennett was born with an Omphalocele, meaning his organs were in his cord, luckily it was small and we knew ahead of time thanks to the power of the ultrasound. He spent some time in the NICU, recovering from his repair surgery, and now he has a special "one of a kind" belly button :D We joked he was the biggest baby in the NICU, born at a healthy 9 lbs 4 oz and now at one year he is at least 24 lbs all thanks to his mama's milk!
He is a special little guy, very laid back and easy going. He loves to play with his big brother and do everything he does! He is hearing impaired, with a loss of hearing in his right ear, but you'd never know it!
We celebrated his birthday at my mother in laws, and we had so much fun! He even decided to start walking <3
Happy Birthday Bennett, you have been the most amazing little boy and I'm so honored you chose me to be your mother. You've helped me grow in so many ways, and I'm thankful you were the one to complete our family. I love you!
Bennett, just born
