Mommy, there is a deer in our yard!!

So I live in town, but on a river. We live on a very busy street...so imagine my surprise when my son informs me he spotted a deer in the backyard!! I thought he was just being silly, but I looked out and yup, there is a deer frolicking in my teeny yard!! I have NO idea  how it got there, or where it went, but I snapped a picture so I could prove to my husband that I wasn't crazy when I told him what we saw!! I sent this pic to the newspaper and they published it (crappy quality and all!) Hi Bambi!!

39Dollarglasses.com Review and Giveaway!

I have been a longtime wearer of glasses, I got my first pair when I was just 6 years old. With 20 years of wearing glasses under my belt, I like to keep my look updated. I don't want to be one of those people who wears the same pair of frames for their whole life! But with the cost of frames on top of my prescription lenses, I can't change my glasses as often as I'd like. Enter 39dollarglasses.com!! 39 Dollar Glasses has a huge selection of top brand name frames, at a price that might shock you! I couldn't believe the selection of glasses that are available at just $39.00! Prices vary depending on the style, but you'll find a lot of awesome looks at way lower prices than your eye clinic! You can even order your prescription lenses through 39DollarGlasses.com! I just called my eye doctor and they sent me my prescription so I can now order glasses online!!
I was given my choice of glasses to review thanks to 39DollarGlasses.com and I chose the "College" frames in black. I have been wanting to try this style of frames for a while, I guess my inner hipster got it's wish!! I actually really love them!! My husband said this style is growing on him :D But I've worn them all day and have had no problems. The fit is perfect, no adjustments needed!! My only qualm, which I knew ahead of time, is that the prescription lenses do not go as high as my prescription-I have a pretty bad astigmatism so I chose to get the PLANO lens option so I can wear them with contacts if I want! But they do have many many "normal" prescriptions so most of you will find what you need!!

excuse my scowl, I haven't mastered the self portrait yet  :D

I know this style is not for everyone, but there is so much more to choose from! You can get plastic or metal frames, rimless eyeglasses, kids eyeglasses, prescription sunglasses and MORE!!
A bonus about 39 Dollar Glasses is that the website is easy to navigate! You just pick out your frames, enter your prescription and checkout! No questioning if you did it right because they will email you your confirmation and receipt! That is something many companies still do not do in this digital age, and I really appreciate that 39 Dollar Glasses is on the ball with that!

Buy it!: Check out www.39Dollarglasses.com and shop their great prices! Hurry, because right now they are offering all of you Life With THe Stevens readers 10% off with the code STEVENS Remember, Free Shipping off of orders of 99$ or more!

30 Day Song Challenge, Day 05: a song that reminds you of someone

This song reminds me of my sister who loved this song when we were kids (and probably hates it now!) She recently moved to TN and I miss her very much!!

Name Bubbles Review!!

As my first born gets older, I panic more and more!! We're getting to the age of playing outside alone, spending the night at Grandma and Grandpa's by himself, and now he'll be going to school all day long in the fall! I tell you, you feed and love these kids and they think they can grow up :D
Doing all of these things alone and not having me to account for his every move, his stuff is vulnerable to be misplaced or forgotten (or worse, stolen!) so I become that mom who writes her kids name on every label on every item!
Well thanks to Name Bubbles, I no longer have to do that!!
Name Bubbles are "Labels for Everyday Life!"
I was sent Camp Pack Name Bubbles featuring my sons name (Cooper)
We are in love with these!! We used them on his luggage on our recent trip to Disney World and they never came off! And we recently purchased his first lunch box for school, and I went right to our stash of Name Bubbles to put a label on his lunch box!

I love everything about Name Bubbles! They are eco-friendly (bonus!) and they are strong enough to withstand several cycles in the dishwasher and washing machine! The Name Bubbles come in all different styles, shapes, and sizes making it easy to keep tabs on EVERYTHING! You can put them on dishes, shoes, clothes, water bottles, toys...you name it, they have a size to fit it!
Name Bubbles is affordable and super cute, you'll toss that marker in a heartbeat and you're kid will be glad to not have your chicken scratch on his unders! ;)
Check out Name Bubbles Blog, and be sure to follow them on Facebook,Twitter, and YouTube! You never know when a good deal or giveaway pops up, and you will want to be the first in line!

30 Day Song Challenge, Day 3: A song that makes you happy

Down on the Corner, the version sung by Street Corner Symphony. When this song comes on my iPod I just
want to dance around like a fool and pretend I can sing this good. It's a good song to run to I might add, keeps me pumped up!

30 Day Song Challenge Day 2: Your Least Favorite Song

Kesha-Tik Tok
I loathe this song. It makes me want to puncture my ear drums.

I dislike posting this on my blog for fear of being associated with it ;)

BabyHawk Review!

I am so honored to do this review for BabyHawk. I have long been a fan since my oldest was a baby. I want to thank my readers for helping me get the opportunity to do this review as part of a contest that BabyHawk was holding!
Okay, now to the good stuff!
The BabyHawk was created by a mom looking for an extra pair of hands-her own-while still maintaining that closeness that her baby needed! Inspired by the Chinese, the BabyHawk Mei Tai was born. The idea that you can hold your little one on your front, back, or hip comfortably and have everyone be happy was not an easy task to take on but BabyHawk has succeeded!
I was sent a custom BabyHawk that is double sided with two different (and gorgeous prints) on black straps. The sewing is perfect, this carrier is very very strong! The straps are the perfect length (you can get different lengths to fit your needs!)
And it really wasn't that hard to tie! I haven't used a BabyHawk in 3 years, and I still remebered how to get my son on my back and tie it securly! Of course, BabyHawk sent along a great and easy to follow guide on the different carries you can try, so don't be afraid!!
Look at these To Die For prints on this BabyHawk:

Viva! Birds Black

 Black Calaveras

I'll point out that if I were to keep this carrier that I would have chosen a ToddlerHawk instead, but I was quite surprised at how well my 26 lb 21 month old fit in this carrier! He loves babywearing just as much as I do :D
As I promised, to thank you all for helping me earn this review opportunity, I will be donating my carrier to a special mama who deserves this!
BabyHawk is an amazing and generous company, and the quality is beyond outstanding. There are so many designs, carrier styles, \ and colors to choose from and you can even create your own design! This is a company based in the USA and I for one am proud to stand behind a product that provides jobs and such love to our country!
Check out BabyHawk and be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter too-they don't shy away from great discounts and contests for their fans and I'm the proof of that!
